FM INTERPRETATION EQUIPMENT
Also called FM translation equipment,
or, for the technically-minded, "those headset thingys".
It's like a miniature radio station. We
broadcast an interpreter's voice using an FM radio transmitter on a
special frequency designated by the FCC for that purpose.
Listeners use a specialized radio with
headphones to select their channel, and follow along in their language.
FM equipment is great for most events -
it's relatively quick to set up, economical, reliable and has very good
sound quality.
